Paharpur Cooling Towers Limited manufactures cooling towers. It offers wet cooling products; dry cooling products, such as air cooled heat exchangers and air cooled condensers; and components. The company’s products are used by electricity generating, petroleum refining, chemical processing, sugar, air-conditioning and refrigeration, and steel industries. It also offers application/sizing/layout, construction, parts, maintenance, condition, reconstruction, performance improvement, tower replacement, and cooling tower information services. Paharpur Cooling Towers Limited is based in Kolkata, India.

Turnkey Projects

Paharpur does not restrict itself to only manufacturing and supplying cooling towers, but believes in the concept of turnkey responsibility including transporting to site, erection, commissioning and testing of complete cooling towers. In the case of concrete cooling towers the civil work is undertaken by Paharpur on its own. Paharpur has a full fledged civil design and construction department with highly trained and experienced civil engineers.

As a logical extension of its commitment to the concept of turnkey responsibility, Paharpur also undertakes contracts for packages involving motor control centers, cabling, lighting, lightning protection, earthing, circulating water piping, pumps, water treatment plants, fore protection systems and complex instrumentation in addition to cooling towers. In short, Paharpur is fully geared to offer single source responsibility to customers.

Paharpur MERINO Relationship: An Overview

Paharpur selected Infor ERP LN SP0 in year 2006 and selected Infor PSO to implement the same. Because of the India Localization gaps on SP0 Paharpur suffered challenges in implementing ERP LN to its full potential and struggled because of localization gaps. With Infor releasing localization on Infor ERP LN FP2 and with stable references of same, Paharpur Selected Merino Services to migrate them to Infor ERP LN FP2. MERINO successfully completed the migration with record “migration of 100% historic data”

Historic Achievement:-

MERINO has Migrated 100% historical data (More than 400 GB) from Infor Ln SP0 to Ln FP 2 which has been first time ever in history.

Key Challenges:-

• Infor ERP LN SP0 implementation gaps wrt non implementation of Turnkey Projects Module and India Localization Challenges
• Entire re configuration in Infor ERP LN FP2 with TP as core.
• The Entire task was hovering around migration of entire transaction data from ERP LN Sp0 to FP2 Version.
• The volume of the historical data to be migrated to the new version was approx. 400 GB with 3 open financial years.
• More than 100 Tables have been introduced and 4000 Fields in between ERP Ln Sp0 & FP2 India version. The effected numbers of tables were around 250. Data set was to be prepared and populated.
• Mapping of existing Data with the changed functionality of LN Localization.
• PCTL was having around 50 critical Customizations which were also to be retrofitted and migrated.

Key Aspects of the Project

• Implementation of Infor ERP LN FP2 with following modules: Finance, Distribution, Manufacturing, Turnkey Projects, Service and Object Data Management.
• Integration of Infor ERP LN FP2 with MS Projects.
• Implementation of BIRT reporting system
• Preparation for Blue Print for Work Flow implementation as part of future road map.
• Migration of 100% Historic data from the SP0 system.

Duration
It has been a journey incomparable and it took MERINO 3 months of time to achieve the desired result.
