About Sanden Vikas (SVL):

SVL is a joint venture of Sandan Corporation of Japan and Vikas Group of India.

SVL specializes in making automotive air conditioners. SVL and other Group companies have established its production facilities to manufacture air-conditioning parts like Compressors, HVACs, Blowers, Receiver Drier, Hoses & Pipes, High Precision Machined parts and Injection Moulded parts.SVL has a strong customer base with customers like Suzuki, Honda, Ford, Tata, Fiat, Mahindra & Mahindra to name a few.

Project and MERINO Relationship Background

SVL selected Infor ERP LN in end of calendar year 2007 and selected one of the Infor Channel Partner for doing the implementation. Though SVL went live on 1st April 2008 but were never able to use the system to the expectations of the management and the users because of lot of configuration mistakes, chart of account setting issues and no implementation of important functionalities like Enterprise Planning and Assembly Control.

In June 2008 SVL invited Merino because of its successful track record in Infor ERP LN and decided to undergo re implementation of most of the functionalities and implementation of all the gaps in implementation. Key aspects of the relationship with Merino are as follows:

  • 1. Re Implementation of Infor ERP LN with following functionalities:
  • Gravity : it’s a desk/ table product Makes Water Pure without using any chemicals lke Chlorine, Bromine or lodine etc.
  • Ultra Violet: state-of-the-art 3-stages Ultra-Violet water purification system ‘ Kent Ultra' that protects drinking water from bacteria & viruses efficiently. Resulted from the latest innovations in UV technology, it marks advancement over common UV Water purifiers. Designed with a multistage filtration system, it uses Sediment Filter and Nano Silver coated Carbon Filter to enhance capability for eliminating micro-organisms.

Water Softener: state-of-the-art 3-stages Ultra-Violet water purification system ‘ Kent Ultra' that protects drinking water from bacteria & viruses efficiently. Resulted from the latest innovations in UV technology, it marks advancement over common UV Water purifiers. Designed with a multistage filtration system, it uses Sediment Filter and Nano Silver coated Carbon Filter to enhance capability for eliminating micro-organisms.

  • Roll Out to all Warehouses
  • Development of AFS controls to reduce the number of screens and transaction time at the shop floor level.
  • Implementation of BIRT Reporting as reporting system.
  • Application Management Services: SVL outsourced complete Application management of all the Enterprise Applications and Servers to Merino Services. Merino provides SLA based support to SVL to manage its entire footprint of enterprise applications which include Infor ERP LN and BIRT reporting. Merino is also responsible as consultant to SVL to develop Enterprise Solution road map for the organization.

Key Challenges

  • Lack of operational truncation mapping in the previous implementation. Knowledge gap in Key users because of improper training and documentation during previous implementation.
  • No DEM Configurations done during previous implementation.
  • No Proper segregation of VRC for Live, India localization and customization.
  • Lack of confidence in Key users and management on the product due to previous experience.
  • Faulty Configuration of chart of Accounts and integration mapping in previous implementation
