Proven Methodology
Merino follows its proven implementation approach to rapidly deploying an organization's Business Process Management (BPM) initiatives. Merino approach helps organizations like you overcome many of the issues that often plague BPM initiatives, including acceptance, change management, scope creep, and lack of focus.
Dedicated approach has been designed to help organizations fully leverage the depth of capabilities and flexibility offered in the BPM software suites.
Merino approach comprises of 5 phases
Engagement (project initiation): During the Engagement phase, the vendor is selected and the project is initiated.
Key activities involved are:
- Definition of Statement of Work
- Project Team: Merino nominate a Project Manager and guide you to assign a suitable Project Manager, review hardware and software requirements
- Project Kick Off: officially initiation of the project, clearly defining the project mission, engaging users in the BPM initiative, overview on BPM concepts and terminology.
Collaboration: The primary purpose of this phase is to solicit, disseminate, and document the application requirements. By the end of this phase the project team will have produced a skeleton of the process map and associated forms and will be able to demonstrate the process flow to you.
Key activities involved are:
- Requirement Analysis Workshops: Produce the Stage Action Roles Matrix and to draft the Functional Requirements Document.
- Process Discovery: Identify high-value process focus areas and to define critical process components - the components of the process.
- Develop the Skeleton Procedure
- Prepare the Functional Requirements Document
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Revisit the Project Plan
Design (detailed solution and architecture design, enhancement of prototype to convert to development model): Review the artifacts produced during the Collaboration phase and use them to define appropriate application architecture. Continue to add detail to the skeleton process map and garner frequent feedback through interactive customer review sessions. The Collaboration phase provided an understanding of what we need to build. The Definition phase will establish the framework for how we are going to build it.
Key activities involved are:
- Define the Application Architecture
- Add to the Skeleton Procedure
- Draft Test Plans
Construction (enhancement of development model to convert to complete application, project team testing): The development effort is completed during the Construction phase and the solution evolves from a representative prototype into a sophisticated application
Key activities involved are:
- Add Process and Integration Logic
- Add Administrative Forms and Reports
- Prepare Documentation
- User Test and Correct
Transition (customer QA and User Acceptance Testing, deployment activities): The Transition phase is so named as it represents the point when the project team transitions the code to the customer.
Key activities involved are:
- QA and User Acceptance Testing
- Finalize Documentation
- Deliver User Training
- Announce System Availability
- Monitor Procedure and Look for Opportunities to Improve
These approaches ensure a successful BPM implementation and help you realize an immediate return on investment (ROI) from the project.
Integration Centric BPM Implementation
Merino's Integration-centric BPM implementations are solely focused on enabling the interactions between packaged applications like ERP Systems such as Baan/ERP LN/ SAP etc and other enterprise applications, custom applications and external applications. These are typically used to automate system-centric processes. Integration between the applications and systems that support cross-functional business processes is the core of integration-centric BPM. The implementation leverages Merino's deep expertise on varying technologies to converge with the BPM toolset capabilities. Merino has developed expertise on various integration frameworks depending on the integration need and the source and destination systems.
